Order Reader Privacy Policy

How Order Reader handles the order data it reads from TikTok Shop, and the limits we hold ourselves to.

Who we are

Phone Peeker LLC is a Nevada limited liability company. We run live shopping auctions on TikTok Shop and ship the items we sell.

Order Reader is our own internal application. It is not sold, licensed, or offered to other businesses. It exists so that a sale made during one of our live auctions can be matched to the physical item that was scanned on our packing bench, and shipped to the right person.

What we read, and why

Order Reader reads order data from TikTok Shop for shops that have authorized it. Its access is read-only. It cannot create, modify, cancel, fulfil, or refund anything, and it never writes to a shop.

It performs exactly three operations, and no others:

  • Read orders updated since a given time — to match each sale to the item scanned for that round of the auction.
  • Read one order by its identifier — to resolve a mismatch by hand the following morning.
  • List shops that have authorized us — to know which shops to read at all.

From each order we use the order identifier, the product name text, the order status, the time the order was placed, and the items and quantities. Those five things are what let us tell which item a customer bought.

Personal data

The TikTok Shop order permission we use is one that can carry customers' personal information. We do not seek it and we do not use it, but it can be present in the order data we receive — a buyer reference, and potentially a name and delivery address.

During our initial integration period we retain the complete order record as received. This is deliberate and temporary. We do not yet know with certainty which field in TikTok's response carries the auction round number our system depends on, and keeping the original record is how we establish that without guessing. Once it is established, we reduce what we retain to the five fields listed above.

What we do not do:

  • We do not use personal data for marketing.
  • We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for advertising.
  • We do not build profiles of customers.
  • We do not show customer details to the people who host our live auctions.

Who else sees it

ShipHero, our warehouse and fulfilment provider, receives the information needed to pick and ship an order — the same information any shipper needs. We do not share order data with anyone else.

Where it is stored

Order data is stored in the United States, in a database controlled by Phone Peeker LLC. It is not transferred outside the United States.

Access is limited to people who need it to run the business. Credentials for TikTok Shop and for our fulfilment provider are held in local configuration that is excluded from our source control, and our software never displays, logs, or prints them.

How long we keep it

We keep order data for as long as we need it to fulfil the order, handle returns and refunds, and meet our tax and accounting obligations.

If our authorization to a shop ends, we delete that shop's order data.

Customer requests

If a customer asks a seller or TikTok Shop to provide, correct, or delete their data, we will assist. We will locate what we hold for that order and provide or delete it as asked. Requests reach us at the address below.

If something goes wrong

If we identify or suspect that order data has been exposed, we will notify TikTok Shop and the affected shop without undue delay — describing what we know, what is affected, and what we are doing about it.

Our incident response process is set out in our internal Information Security Policy, which we can provide on request.
